Here's an unusual event (ie. it's never happened before) ... the Belediye (Council) sent some workers to clear the sides of the roads around the village. They told us (via sign language) that a tractor will be coming to cut down the rest ... should we hold our breath?
We had some surprise visitors this week, Vicki and Paul. Vicki came to stay with us 2 years ago when she finished her GCSEs. She managed to find her way to the house, not easy by any means. It was really nice to see them, we were so pleased they took the trouble. We took them over to Akbuk market on Friday, so that they could see something other than Altinkum.
They were staying in the Garden of Sun Hotel at third beach. This is the view from their room. Quite something!!
We took ourselves off to Kusadasi today as it was just too hot to do anything at home.
After we had visited Koçtaş (B&Q) and Kipa (Tesco) we found this little bay to cool off in
For those of you who know the area, believe it or not, this is down a little road almost opposite Kipa
Cooling off after a hard day's shopping
Temp in middle 40s
This poor little lady was an orphan
Fortunately we had a good idea where she might find a loving home.
Kevin and Annette have named her Apricot
It's all birthdays this month, and this was Yo's 50th
It was held at a little restaurant in Akbuk and she had invited around 50 guests
Here's Kevin showing his true colours as he attempts to wear a glamourous suspender belt. Sorry Kevin, think you're too butch to be a cross dresser.
During the night I blacked out in the bathroom and head-butted a marble step
A quick trip down to the Hospital for 5 internal and 9 external stitches, X-rays and general patching up at 3.30am.
all done and dusted and back in bed by 4.30am ... take note NHS.
It was Pat's birthday on 3rd June and to celebrate we went
down to Iassos and then back on ourselves along the coast to a small
bay called Kıyıkışlacık
We took a picnic with us and some wine and of course the
cake with candles and sparklers
